Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
The short version: Ludéum has no ads, no analytics and no trackers, and it does not sell or share your data. Your progress stays on your device and in your own account (iCloud on iPhone and iPad; Google on Android). On iPhone and iPad we use no servers of our own: online play goes through Game Center. On Android, online play uses our Firebase project (a Google service) and stores only what is needed to play; see the Android section.
Who is responsible
Ludéum is an app by Carlos Carmona (Tzinitzcan). If you have any questions about this policy, write to us from the support page.
If you write to us through the contact form, we use your name, email and message only to reply to you; we don’t share them or use them for anything else.
Data the app saves
On your device and in your iCloud:
- Your progress: statistics, the record of games played, challenges, stamps, tournament laurels, achievements earned, tutorials completed and your online rank.
- Your profile name and emblem.
Only on your device:
- Games in progress.
- Your settings: board style, background, appearance, sound, music, pieces and dice.
If you are signed in to iCloud, your progress is also stored in your iCloud account, in the app’s own space, so it is the same on all your devices and is not lost if you delete the app or change iPhones. Apple keeps that copy with your account; we have no access to it. Without iCloud, everything stays only on your device. On iPhone and iPad, Ludéum uses no servers of its own. You can erase your statistics from your profile (Erase Stats): they are also erased on your other devices and in iCloud.
Game Center
Game Center is an Apple service and is optional: without it you can play everything except online. If you sign in, the app receives your nickname and a player identifier from Game Center, and sends Apple:
- your progress on achievements;
- your points for each week in the tournaments. The leaderboards are public on Game Center: other players see your nickname, your points and your position.
We do not receive your email, your photo or any other data from your Apple Account. Game Center is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Online play
Online games, live or turn-based, go through Game Center. Only what is needed to play is sent to your rival: the moves, the game settings, your online rank, your emblem and whether you are a Patron (to show your frame). Your rival sees your Game Center nickname. There is no chat or messaging, and your profile name is not sent. Ludéum does not keep online games outside Game Center.
Purchases
Patron is a one-time in-app purchase. It is processed by Apple with your App Store account: we do not receive your payment details. The app only asks the App Store whether the purchase is active (also if it reaches you through Family Sharing or when you restore purchases).
Android
The Android version saves your progress just like the iPhone one: on your phone and, if Google backup is turned on, in your Google account. Unfinished games stay on the phone only.
Google Play Games is optional: without it you can play everything except online. If you sign in, your progress is also kept in Play Games Saved Games on your account, and Google receives your achievement progress and your weekly tournament points. Leaderboards are public: other players see your player name, your points and your rank. Play Games is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Online play. On Android, online games go through our Firebase project, a Google service:
- When you play online, Firebase gives you a user ID linked to your Play Games account. We do not receive your email or your photo.
- Each game stores the moves, the settings, your Play Games player name, your emblem, your online level and whether you are a Patron. Only the two players can read it. There is no chat and there are no messages. Finished games are deleted after 30 days and invitations expire after 30 minutes.
- If you allow notifications, we store a notification ID for your phone so we can tell you when it is your turn. You can turn them off at any time in Android settings.
- Firebase App Check, with Google Play Integrity, checks that requests come from the genuine app, to prevent abuse.
This data is encrypted in transit and used only to make online play work: we do not sell or share it. Patron purchases on Android are processed by Google Play with your account: we do not receive your payment details.
What Ludéum does not use
There is no advertising, no advertising identifier, no cross-app tracking, no analytics and no third-party crash reports. The app does not ask for access to your location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts or notifications. The historical photos come inside the app: nothing is downloaded from the internet.
On Android, the app may ask for permission to show notifications (to tell you about your online games); it is optional.
Children
Ludéum does not ask anyone for personal data, including minors, and it is not directed at children under 13. Game Center features can be restricted with Apple's Screen Time, and Play Games features with Google Family Link.
Your rights
Since we do not keep any data about you, we have nothing to give you, correct or delete: what the app saves is on your device and in your iCloud account, and you control it. What Game Center stores with your account (achievements and leaderboards) is managed by Apple from your Apple Account.
On Android, what online play stores in Firebase is deleted automatically 30 days after the game ends. If you want us to delete it sooner, or to delete your ID and notification data, write to us from the support page and we will do it within 30 days. What Play Games keeps with your account is managed from your Google account.
Changes to this policy
If the app changes what it does with your data, we will update this page and the date above before releasing the change.
